Woburn House in Tavistock Square, London has become London Living Wage accredited by the London Living Wage Foundation www.livingwage.org.uk The national living wage is an independent calculation which is based on cost of living and what people need to get by. The London Living Wage is set at a higher rate to take into account the additional costs associated with living in the capital. In order to qualify for accreditation, all staff and contractors must be paid a minimum of the London Living Wage which is currently set at £10.55 per hour.
Richard Bull, General Manager at Woburn House said “We are very pleased to be recognised as a London Living Wage employer and be associated with a foundation which encourages employers to pay staff fairly to ensure they can live in our fantastic city. We are very proud of our staff here and the brilliant work they do and believe it is only right that they are rewarded at a fair rate for their work. Finding good hospitality staff in London is particularly difficult at the moment and becoming London Living Wage accredited ensures we can continue to employ the best staff providing the best service to our clients.”
Woburn House is committed to being an ethical company. It not only pays London Living Wage but all profits are paid to a charity (Universities UK) to fund its work in the education sector.
