It’s been a while since I wrote a blog so apologies for the radio silence but unfortunately little has actually changed since my update in April. With lockdown restrictions loosening in some areas the meetings and events world remains heavily impacted and unable to operate due to the government restrictions. However, we are planning for reopening which at this stage looks to be in September and I want to use this opportunity to tell you a little about our plans.
Firstly, we will be following government guidance carefully at the time of opening and going above and beyond the minimum requirements to ensure the safety of our staff, your staff and delegates. We are already in discussions with our catering provider about how we can provide you delicious food and beverages in a safe manner. This may be sealed or brown bag type lunch which will allow delegates to consume this where they feel safe, be that within the venue or in the beautiful Tavistock Square.
We pride ourselves on our professional in house AV solutions at Woburn House including our professional stage set and lighting we have installed in our Woburn Hall. We are investigating AV solutions that will utilise that professional backdrop for fully virtual or hybrid events. Likewise, with meetings, we realise that many will now require virtual attendance and we will be installing the latest technology to give your meetings that professional feel and enhance the experience for those not able to attend in person.
We will be adhering strictly to all social distancing guidelines in place at the time of opening and will have a robust cleaning and sanitisation routine in place to minimise the risk to all. We will be training our staff on the new requirements and regimes and briefing all our clients prior to and during your booking to reassure you that the measures we have implemented are being carried out.
As soon as the guidelines are released we will be working on how this works for Woburn House and at that point I will update you all again.
I would like to be able to tell you more but, as I write this, things are still in development and subject to change based on the government guidance but rest assured we will be ready and raring to go again as and when we are allowed to. We have updated our terms and conditions to include a COVID 19 clause recommended by the Meetings Industry Association which will hopefully give you the confidence to book with us from September without the fear of cancellation charges due to further lockdowns. Please do get in touch if you have any meetings or events you would like to hold after September and we can discuss with you your requirements. Please email us on bookings@woburnhouse.co.uk
If you have an upcoming booking with us and you would like to discuss how we might be able to facilitate this then again please do get in touch.
We look forward to welcoming clients old and new to Woburn House in the autumn and providing the service standards that so many of our clients value so highly. In the meantime I hope you all stay safe and well.
Best wishes
Richard Bull
