GREEN MEETINGS SILVER AWARD!

About Us

Announcement: GREEN MEETINGS SILVER AWARD at Woburn House Conference Centre.

We are excited to announce that Woburn House Conference Centre, Tavistock Square, London. WC1 has received the Green Meetings Silver Award certification. This proves that our commitment to sustainability translates into action.

Katy Stephens, Senior Sales and Events Exec at Woburn House explains why this was so important to the venue and their clients.

“The subject of sustainability is always a hot topic and this certification, verified by Green Tourism’s expert assessors, gives reassurance to our Clients that we are genuinely invested in sustainable operations and practices at Woburn House Conference Centre.

The accreditation is specific to the meetings and events industry and was created to provide confidence to corporate buyers who wanted the reassurance of a third-party certification when choosing suppliers. This goes from improving biodiversity, eliminating single-use items and supporting your local community, to embracing the circular economy, embedding Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) solutions and implementing measures to reduce your carbon footprint. It is a benchmark that everyone trusts.

The whole team have been working hard throughout the summer months to ensure that the goals, criteria and actions in the “GreenCheck Portal” have been tailormade so they are relevant to both our business and the policies of our clients. I am immensely proud to have their hard work rewarded by the Silver status. We will continue to work with the Green Tourism assessors to improve and hopefully make the Gold status on our next evaluation.”
